Shinan, China, 2020
Back in February of 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic was still in its infancy and mostly restricted to China, I was working on a project in the port city of Qingdao. It focused on local residents’ defiance of lockdown regulations amidst growing fears nationwide. Given what has transpired globally since, it seems kind of quaint now. Whichever way, this gent’s unperturbed stare struck me as particularly bold. And incredibly vulnerable.

Both small and sizeable donations are also very much in order, as it helps to keep me doing what I do. Bless your gentle heart.
