Dental clinic window.

Shibei, China, 2020

In a country exceedingly obsessed with appearance (and skillfully hiding the rot beneath the surface), cosmetic dentistry has taken off in a big way in China. Dentists have a way of doing their thing in cubicles behind storefront windows – in full view of pedestrians crowding the sidewalks – as a way to show off their skills and attract more customers and/or patients. Oddly enough, it seems to work. This poster in one such window was just too good to refuse.
